Vintage! Vintage! Vintage!
Everywhere we go and everyone we talk to for quite a few years now is the fondness of all things classic!
Anything that evokes an era loved but not forgotten is in! And we have a distinct feeling that this will most definitely remain in vogue for quite some time. This past summer and fall and still being seen some coming up this spring is all things Gatsby! We love the flapper fun and 1920’s flair in gold or red and white pops of color. Linens by the Sea Ambiance line of overlays in white, gold and black definitely fit the bill for a flashy roaring 20’s pop. As seen below, the Ambiance Gold is indeed elegant mixed with antique inspired cracked mercury glass containers and votives alongside the ever classic champagne flute for toasting a grand affair.
Love the lace!
What could be more romantic? And what brings back more memories of decades past? This dreamy photo is our Ivory Lace 90” Square Overlay on top of our amazing crepe back sating café table linen. Yes, it’s crepe back satin like red carpet runway gowns, and yes, it does hang as elegantly on a table as you might suspect. Crepe back satin is truly the perfect way to capture a touch of unique elegance to any event design. Our rental line carries it as well in gold and in silver, along with a few limited edition items in pale pink blush.
Textures and Patterns
A truly traditional way to create vintage charm, is working with classic textures and patterns. For instance, the scallop tablecloth is a classic and traditional European design that gives an elegant look to every table. We often use straight pins for gathering and adjusting. There are many event planners that use rubber bands to hold the scallop in place and create a rose design where it is gathers. So beautiful!
Damask fabrics, dating back to the early Middle Ages, gets their names from the city of Damascus, Syria, For centuries they were of the rarest of fabrics made from silk, wool linen and cotton. In today’s modern age, damask weaves are typical woven from synthetic polyester, which makes for excellent rental tablecloths. At Linens by the Sea, we carry two popular linens which are the Nova Swirl, a unique contemporary twist on the old damask favorites, and Chopin in many different colors for the purists.
Whatever linens you select for your today’s most fashionable vintage designs, realize that almost anything goes from eclectic to more orchestrated plans. Have fun and enjoy!
