There are many ways to make your weddings and events have a trendy and contemporary look. At Linens by the Sea and U.S. Tent Rental, we suggest using stylish linens, chargers, lighting, and draping to jazz things up a bit. We offer a wide variety of these items, so the possibilities are endless!
This photo was of a wedding reception held on the terrace at the Ringling Ca d’Zan Mansion. It is a mixture of classic and contemporary. The beautiful Mediterranean waterfront estate features gorgeous stained glass windows and glazed tiles. Although this house was built in the 1920’s, today we can add contemporary décor to ensure that everything old looks new again. The gold lacquer chargers, Bling Gold overlays and gold chiavari chair combination makes this classic-contemporary wedding oh so chic. We love the dark navy against the soft pink with pops of metallic gold.
This wedding by Choreographed Events at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, Florida is marvelously mod. The use of the “Great Gatsby” inspired table numbers and the gold and clear centerpiece décor makes this a fashionable contemporary affair to remember. The neutral ivory and champagne color palate against the black accents makes every little detail stand out. The beige exterior of the hotel blends wonderfully with the design of this wedding. We are sure that this wedding could compete with even the grandest events thrown by Mr. Gatsby himself!
This black and red tented event is the essence of contemporary. From the black ceiling drapes, to the shiny black dance floor, to the angular lounge furniture, this cool set up show cases the latest and greatest styles of tent and event décor. Lighting can make a huge difference if you’re looking for something to make a statement. Here, the red uplighting completely changes the atmosphere of the room. The chandeliers hanging from the tent’s ceiling, the candelabras on top of the feasting tables and the subtle tea lights illuminating the lounge area make you feel like you’re in a swanky night club. It’s amazing how you can turn an empty tent into a luxurious space for cocktails and dancing.
What’s more contemporary than a bold pattern in black and white with pops of bright red? This adorable Dr. Seuss themed first birthday party for little Jackson was as cute as can be. One of the fabulous ladies from Table 6 Productions happens to be Jackson’s mom and knew just what to do to make this a special birthday bash. She used a solid white tablecloth on a high top table with a “Fantasia Black” overlay on top and tied it in the middle with a red sash. This linen was perfect for the Dr. Seuss theme and just what the party needed. We hope Jackson had a blast celebrating his day!
It’s all about the glitter, sparkles and sequins these days. In some cases the more glitter, the better, but even just a little bit of sparkles is just as nice. A sequin tablecloth in any metallic color is the perfect accent to catch your guest’s attention, and it’s not too flashy. We love seeing them on cake tables, sweetheart tables or on a candy display like it’s shown in this photo. Sequin linens turn the glam factor way up at any event. If you’re on Pinterest or ever surfing the internet, you know exactly how popular sequins are. Not only do we see them on tablecloths, but we’ve noticed them on centerpieces, stationary, cakes, and well, just about anywhere and everywhere.
Our last contemporary event is this clean, fresh, monochromatic wedding by NK Productions. Styling an event or wedding in like color tones such as soft white, ivorys and silvers, will always be in vogue. Whites and ivorys are classic and timeless colors to use at a wedding, and it’s obvious why. They never go out of style. The silver Chiavari chairs used around this table are the perfect contrast to this sleek look. Another way to add a pop of color are the menu cards tucked into the napkin fold, like they did in the above photo. If you are interested in a contemporary but simple and elegant look, this is the way to go.
Like we said in the beginning of this post, your options are endless and we are always looking forward to the next big thing in event design. No matter if your event is classic, vintage, rustic, or tropical, you can incorporate contemporary ideas into anything.
